Description: The Empires and Atlantics Forum aims to bring together cutting edge scholars from multiple disciplines working on various empires, European and non-European, in all their localities – the ultimate goal being a global consideration of empires. The forum also invites papers dealing with Atlantic and other oceanic spaces. The pre-circulated, article-length papers will thus invite wide-ranging conversations. While speakers will be experts on particular empires and oceanic spaces, the discussions will aim to raise comparative questions about methods, cultures, repertoires, and strategies of rule.
